Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley has been providing exceptional healthcare for the northwest Phoenix area's pets since June, 2001. Being one of the only family owned and operated practices in our area, we take great pride in our excellent patient care and personalized client service! We are voluntarily accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association; being among only about 12% of American and Canadian practices who are. Michael A. Lee
Dr Lee is the Owner and Medical Director of the Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley. Dr Lee is originally from Connecticut but has enjoyed living in AZ since 1995. In 1987 Dr Lee received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Biology. He then continued his studies at Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he was able to combine his lifelong love of the sciences with that of animals, graduating with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After he completed an intensive internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Dr Lee made his way back out west. He worked at two private practices as an associate before he decided to open Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley in 2001.
Dr Lee's areas of special interest are internal medicine, endocrinology, ultrasound and dermatology but he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. In his spare time Dr Lee enjoys spending time with his wife and their pets, hiking, camping, playing guitar, and collecting antique New England bottles and flasks.
Dr. Bower is an Arizona native, growing up in North Phoenix. He went to the University of Arizona for his undergraduate degree where he majored in Microbiology. He then went on to Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He completed a Small Animal Medical and Surgical internship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 before coming back to the valley.
Dr. Bower has been working in the valley for several years as an associate veterinarian prior to joining the team in February 2015. He is dedicated to compassionate and complete patient care along with excellent communication with our clients. His areas of special interest are internal medicine, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound, and pain management but he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. In his spare time he likes to get up to the mountains for flyfishing the lakes and streams in search of trout. He has setup numerous freshwater aquariums for planted tanks and freshwater shrimp but now his new interest is his saltwater reef and the many different types of corals that he grows. He also enjoys gardening, playing soccer, and spending time with his wife and two sons along with his rescue lab mix Isaac.
Lynnette is our Practice Manager. She manages all administrative aspects of the business including marketing, human resources, supplies/inventory, community outreach, and accounting. Lynnette is originally from Nebraska, but has lived in the valley since 1994. In June 2001, Dr Lee and Lynnette opened Animal Medical Center of Deer Valley together. Prior to the veterinary world, Lynnette had a career in the hotel industry providing marketing for hotels and tour companies. She honed her skills in marketing as well as customer service there. She always loved animals and has truly fallen in love with the veterinary industry, enjoying all aspects of her role here. She is proud of our excellent and dynamic team! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with Dr Lee and their many pets, traveling, her continued study of the Spanish language, trying out new recipes, and reading.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Lisa joined our team as a Veterinary Technician in March 2010. She is originally from Minnesota, but moved to Anthem with her family in 2005. Lisa takes great pride in her patient care as well as client service. She is kind hearted and outgoing, and can always be counted on to provide compassionate, loving care to our patients. In her free time, Lisa enjoy spending time with her family which includes her husband, two daughters, her son, her dog Mia and her 3 cats Albert, Jinx and Simon. She and her husband are big Coyotes hockey fans and go to as many games as they can!
Veterinary Assistant/Client Service
Becky has been with our practice since May 2011. She has been a veterinary asssitant for many years, and brings experience and competence in spades to our practice. She prides herself on her excellent patient care, and makes sure that our patients are comfortable and happy while in our care. Becky and her husband, a teacher and coach, recently became first time parents! Becky thoroughly enjoys her time being mom to her daughter. Their cat Tyson is also a special part of their family ( be sure to ask her about his dramatic entry into their lives). Becky and her husband love hiking, sporting events and entertaining at their new home. Since Becky joined our team she and her husband have added two little ones to their family, a daughter and a son.
Brandi joined our team in April 2015. She graduated from Sandra Day O'Conner High School and is currently studying to get her Associates in Veterinary Technology. Brandi brings a wealth of knowledge from her varied experience in this field. She was an animal caretaker at the World Wildlife Zoo for several years, and has an additional several years of experience as a veterinary assistant in clinical practice as well. She has been a great addition to our team. Brandi is currently pursuing her bachelors in Conservation. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her pets, outdoor activities and studying!
Dana joined our team in 2015 as one of our veterinary assistants. Dana has a bachelors degree in Biology from NAU in Flagstaff, and has been working as a veterinary technician for the past 5 years. She has been a great addition to our team, and we appreciate her kind and caring attention to our patients. When not at work, Dana loves to travel, be outdoors and is currently studying to get her Yoga certification.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Abbey joined our team in 2017. Abbey is originally from Michigan but has lived in the valley for about 15 years. Abbey has a degree in Veterinary Technology from Macomb Community College. She brings years of experience, a great attitude and lots of love for our patients, making her an excellent addition to our team. Abbey enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and her new puppy Gemma.
